Résumé

Psychanalyste, historienne et auteur, entre autres, d’une Histoire de la psychanalyse en France, E. Roudinesco s’intéresse depuis longtemps aux concepts d’ethnopsychiatrie et à l’ethnopsychanalyse - elle a notamment préfacé Psychothérapie d’un indien des plaines de G. Devereux - et s’est beaucoup opposé à certains développements de l’ethnopsychiatrie en France, notamment au courant représenté par T. Nathan. Partant d’une perspective historique, elle va, dans cet entretien, nous expliquer la genèse du concept afin de préciser sa position actuelle vis-à-vis de ce qu’on appelle plutôt aujourd’hui la psychiatrie transculturelle.

Abstract

Psychoanalyst, historian, author amongst many other books of a History of psychanalysis in France, E. Roudinesco has been interested for a long time in ethnopsychiatry and ethnopsychanalysis concepts - she has prefaced G. Devereux’s Reality and dream - and often put up stiff resistance to certain tendancies of ethnopsychiatry in France, particularly T. Nathan’s school of thought. From the historical point of view, she will, in this interview, explain the genesis of the concept and specify her actual position concerning what is more often now called transcultural psychiatry.
