Résumé

L’article prend pour socle de réflexion l’ouvrage récent de Mathieu Bellahsen « La santé mentale. Vers un bonheur sous contrôle » qui retrace l’évolution du concept de santé mentale de son acception progressiste en lien avec les mouvements de psychiatrie critique d’après-guerre à sa construction en tant qu’opérateur de gouvernementalité néolibérale. C’est l’occasion de soutenir l’importance de travailler à la production de figures de l’hétérogène afin d’objecter à la diffusion de la contrainte et à l’uniformisation dans le champ des pratiques de la folie. La question du « travail de guérison » soutient le fil de l’argumentation déployée.

Abstract

The article is based on deliberation about Mathieu Bellahsen’s recent work “The mental health. Towards a happiness under control” which redraws the evolution of the concept of mental health from its progressive meaning in the post-war critical psychiatry movements towards its development as an operator of neo-liberal gouvernmentality. It is the opportunity to highlight the importance of promoting diversity and pluralism against the distribution of constraint and the uniformity in the field of the practices of psychiatry. The question of “work of cure” supports the analysis and argument carried out.
