Résumé

La consultation tout-venant d’un Centre Médico-Psychologique de psychiatrie infanto-juvénile est un site d’accueil majeur de la souffrance liée à la migration et aux exils. Or chaque rencontre clinique conduit le clinicien à un choix éthique autant que clinique : lorsque l’on reçoit un patient migrant, se centre-t-on sur l’étrangeté du symptôme et suppose-t-on son hétéronomie avec tout symptôme classique, ou maintient-on une distinction de principe entre une enveloppe formelle de la souffrance influencée par des facteurs culturels et une problématique singulière qui se saisit de l’opportunité d’un formalisme autant qu’elle est saisie par lui pour manifester son impasse et révéler sa question ?

Abstract

Over the last twenty years or so, self-harm has become a behaviour that is frequently targeted in psychiatric clinics for adolescents. The adolescents say that they cut themselves to gain relief and to evacuate pain by materializing it in physical and visible sufferings. With the support of a third person – the clinician –, self-harming adolescents are able to attach words and meaning to their acts. In this paper we will explore the way in which the meaning of the act affects the adolescents’psychic development and how it enable them to reconstruct the pubescent and the infantile through the process of subjectivation.
